This story is written with a lot of humor, especially when it comes to Gordon's wooing tactics toward Jemma, (the two main characters). Jemma, headstrong and stubborn is suffering greatly from her fathers death and doesn't realize what a pain in the derrière she has become. Her brother, Curan, has become friends and business partners with his Scottish neighbor who has a fancy for Jemma. Being English, Curan thinks it's a great idea to establish a more permanent peace between the two family's only if Jemma is agreeable. Now the fun begins! Jemma suffers a set down by her clan and brother, tries to make amends by being responsible (for one day!), takes off riding at dusk and is assaulted by rogue English soldiers on Gordon's land. She is rescued by Gordon and now the fun REALLY begins. This story wouldn't be complete without the resident bad guy/girl or two, which do exist. There is plenty of flirting, lust and passion, that when they finally get down to business, the pages sizzle with sexuality. I'm fanning myself right now just thinking about it! 😜. Ms. Wine does not disappoint, as usual. I only gave her a four star because the story was too short, it ended way too soon. I really, really wanted a little more, about four more chapters! However, I highly recommend Ms. Wine to all lovers of historical romance novels! Hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. Happy reading! Cheers! 🍻

My Fair Highlander Mary Wine 9780758242075 Books Reviews
Mary Wine created a hero that made you imagine the twinkle in his eye as he won over Jemma. Usually the hero's are brooding men but his sense of fun and earthy sexiness was refreshing. I will keep this for a reread at a later date.
Loved this book. It had adventure, love and danger. The storyline was exciting, it kept me clued to the pages.
I love everything Mary WIne writes. I can picture the places and the people. I love the history and the beautiful books. You must experence this Author. One of my favorites always. Romantic and lots and lots of alpha guys that steam up the pages.
Had a few problems with this one. The author should keep to her original description from her previous book. Laird Barras was blond in book one. Jemma, was described well in book one, not so in this one. The story was good after you get past the mistakes. The love scenes were hot. The laird yummy! Good plot twist also. It was good to see Lord Curan and charactors from book one.
Mary Wine has done it again!Great book, fast read. I have just finished reading this book for the second time. I love the story line and there is a lot of detail about the life in a Scottish castle. The only problem is her cover. This guy looks terrible. He looks nothing like the way Laird Barras is described in the book. Next time, Mary, try to match your book cover with the way the hero is described. We all do like to ogle the book cover while we read! Can't wait until your next book. Please write fast!
Excellent book a must read and with each word that is read you really are hooked, what an excellent writer! I never want to miss a book in every series and I highly recommend this book and all books by this author! Fantastic book, you will not want to put it down, I know I didn't and I wanted more and I feel that you will also! Great, Great, Book!
I will start out with the usual on her books. I have a like/hate with her books. They are basically very good short fast reads, but not real in-depth stories. However with that said there are always something in her books that either doesn't make sense or she leaves out stuff. One of the things I will bring up with this book, which is not as big a deal as some of the things she has left out in other books, is there is a group of English soldiers that attack Jemma, then later they burn down one of Gordon's peoples farm house, Gordon is out looking for these guys also during the story, but they are never dealt with. I also have a problem with who the villain is at the end. They come out of left field, she made them insane, so the reason they did want they did doesn't matter. The person attacks Jemma, but never bothers the other person Gordon sleep with before her. Why not it they were trying to keep him pure? Plus I would have thought that person would not still be on Gordon's land. Can't really say more than that without giving something away. Anyway all in all mostly a good read.
Sex content is medium/high.
