This book started off with great promise. I had the expected negative response to the main character, Vincent, and his shenanigans with women and I really enjoyed Annie and her backstory. To be honest, I think the author missed a great chance here to turn a good story into a great one! There seemed to be large gaps between events in the character's lives - e.g. Vincent leave the manuscript for awhile and suddenly reappears after Annie gets her own vet practice. I liked the part where Annie's husband leaves and about Annie's circumstances, but she suddenly turns up in Little Creek with her own practice. I liked the way Vincent picks the dog off the road and takes it to Annie's surgery and so they meet. Any books with animals in will always get me in.
The story moves along at a rather rapid pace for someone to get used to Vincent's changed circumstances, and Annie seems to have no thought in particular about that. Her mad decision re Vincent is, quite frankly, ridiculous and seemed to be just in there to create a dilemma for the characters. I'm trying hard here not to give spoilers!
Perhaps I'd better just say that I was disappointed that the story was wound up so fast. I felt as though the author was intent on writing a short book - perhaps because apparently people seem to like short books these days - but I think that if this was the case, it short-changed what could have been a real "humdinger" of a story. Depth of character is what drives a book for me, and this one could well have had me cheering Vincent and Annie on and it did to a certain extent, but the brevity of the ending fixed that.

I listened to the Audible audio version of this book.
LOVING A FALLEN STAR was a great story. It was meaningful and sweet with likable characters and a good plot. It makes one think about how certain decisions can affect not only their life but others as well. It was like fate. How two people living completely separate lives can walk right in and stay.
Vincent had an acting career where he was a star and women were a dime a dozen. He treated them like dirt. Then in a twist, he has an accident that changes his life forever.
Annie, a sweet veterinarian who loves animals and has a kind heart comes home from work one day to her husband leaving her for another woman.
These two individuals who were unlikely to ever meet, did so thanks to another unnamed person's actions and a dog. I loved this story written by JANE B. NIGHT. At just around two hours, this book was so engrossing that it felt almost longer. It was very good.
LOGAN McALLISTER did a fabulous job narrating. He kept the story at a nice pace and had good voice inflections. His performance was flawless. I really enjoyed listening to him.

Well I'm not about to tell you! You'll have to read it yourself to find out! I will however tell you that I did enjoy reading this short book and the story of Vincent and the characters that are involved into his life. The tragedy that occurred in Vincent's life didn't stop him from starting over and finding true happiness. He kept going when most would have given up. His strength and determination, really make his character interesting. Although I did find Loving a Fallen Star and bit short and predicable, I would still recommend it! Night was able to suck you into her story of Vincent a Fallen Star, making this book hard to put down. Her description of the characters and their surroundings make the story believable and intriguing!
If you're looking for something new and interesting to read then I would recommend checking out Loving a Fallen Star by Jane B. Night!
