Last Call by Jennifer Schmidt is full of love, lies, heartbreak and humor. The hero's are hilarious; the villains are ruthless. It's a sexy adult romance, and it's so freaking cute too. Wow, talk about some heat between the two main characters, Dean and Novalee. You can feel the connection and sexual tension radiating off the pages.

This story had an original plot. It's not very realistic, but it's enjoyable nonetheless.

Novalee is a very strong, independent character. She likes to be in control, and she rarely does anything wild and out of character, except for the one time she married a complete stranger in Las Vegas.

Dean has been through a lot in his life. His dying grandfather owns a chain of luxury hotels. Dean's grandfather is leaving him his legacy, but Dean's father thinks the hotels should go to him. Trying to keep Dean from taking over, Dean's father adds a stipulation to the will: Dean must be married to take over the empire. Dean marries a complete stranger.

Two years later, Dean has to present his wife to a judge to prove that their marriage is real. If she doesn't appear in court then Dean's father will be awarded the hotels. The problem is: Dean hasn't seen his wife since the day they were married.

With all the lies and deception, do Dean and Novalee stand a chance?

I gave Last Call by Jennifer Schmidt 4 STARS (3.5 STARS). This book is a lot of fun. I STRONGLY recommend this book to adults looking for a fun, light read.

Novalee Jensen has had a pretty rough life up until now. She's done everything she can to move on from everything that happened. But two years ago, she did something completely out of character for her. And she figured what happened in Vegas stayed in Vegas. But apparently that isn't the case for her. Because when her big mistake walks through the door of her bar, she has no idea what to do, or what he could possibly want after all of this time.

Dean knows what he did back then and now is totally wrong. And he knows that the woman he's been thinking about for the past two years might very well hate him, or come to hate him when everything is all said and done. However, he never expected to fall for her. And as time starts to count down for him, fall he does.

This book was extremely unique and very good! I enjoyed the whole plot line. And I adored both of the characters. Although I sorta got really pissed at Dean a lot, but I ended up thinking he was pretty awesome in the end. This book brought a lot of great surprise to me, and I had a wonderful time reading it. It had an alpha male, and a very strong heroine so that made it even better!

What a fun read! The story of Novalee and Dean was a super cute and quick read! I didn't want to put this book down. I loved how this book made me LOL, want to junk punch Dean, and tear up all in one day! I loved so many aspects of this book,like the relationship and banter between Cali and Novalee. Totally could of been me and one of my girlfriends. The chemistry between Novalee and Dean is HOT HOT HOT! Can I please go to Vegas and drunkly marry a hottie like please. Last Call is just an all around good feel good book that will give you an escape! Make sure to put Last Call on you summer TO READ list! I look forward to reading more from Jennifer Schmidt!
Loved this charming, intoxicating, sexy story it was incredible. For a debut novel Jennifer Schmidt you have a new fan it was well written and it captivated me from the beginning. The characters had easy fun and a playful demeanor with one another. Love their chemistry and witty, flirty banter as well as their keep real attitudes. The pull they have on one another, that need that makes it even more passionate beyond just a well written sex scene that really had me drawn in.
Novalee Jensen is a beautiful, strong, independent woman who has some secrets as well as a past traumatic abusive relationship and has experienced a deep loss. She woke up two years ago while on a vacation to Las Vegas naked in a room with a stranger and a paper that said they were married. Novalee didn't stick around to figure out what happened. She hasn't heard anything from the stranger since and she is starting to think this secret is safe when the stranger shows up in the bar she runs.
Dean is a handsome, non commitment, wealthy, multimillionaire who married Novalee for all the wrong reasons two years ago. He is the heir to the WIP Hotels that was left to him by his grandfather with a stipulation that he needed to be married to get his inheritance. Now his drunken, gambling father is contesting the will and Dean has a few weeks to show up in court with his wife or lose everything.
As these two get reacquainted the sparks fly and both of them can't stop thinking about the other. They both connect on so many levels that they both don't like the thought that although they have talked about getting a divorce, maybe they belong together. Did Fate step in two years ago to bring these two together? Will the secrets put an end to their Hot Steaming Passion before their hearts are entangled? You are just going to have to read this Fantastic, Intoxicatingly, Addictive, Passionate Story. Highly recommend this story! Loved it!
